A serene evening view of a wooden pier leading to a restaurant, with soft lighting illuminating the pathway. The calm water reflects the distant boats, and the sky has a soft, pastel glow, indicating the twilight hours.

Coffee Tasting & Dining at Labuan Bajo | Indonesia

Labuan Bajo has some nice cafes and eateries dotted along the city center and across the town. You could get a burger at 10,000 Indonesian Rupiah at some street stalls, or you could spend 700,000 Indonesian Rupiah for a dinner for two at a upscale restaurant.

Whatever your budget, don’t skip on the local coffee scene. The Flores has its own coffee beans, and the coffee does not disappoint.

Coffee @ Kopi Mane Inspiration

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I know Indonesia is one of the biggest producer of coffee beans. In fact I generally prefer their beans as its comparatively less acidic and more cocoa flavor when people let me choose the beans. For some reason it does not compute in my brain that there would be a great coffee scene while I planning to visit Labuan Bajo. So it was a pleasant surprise when I found out that the Flores Islands has planted its own coffee beans.

Found this small little cafe just opposite the hotel we were staying, and the affogato here is good.

Breakfast @ Seaesta Hostel & Hotel

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Just next to Kopi Mane Inspiration, it is a hostel with a beautiful pool, and a restaurant that allows you to enjoy the pool view.

The breakfast plate cost 65,000 Indonesian Rupiah. The service and the pool view is great, recommend to stay at this place just for the cool, chill vibe.

An Italian restaurant serving good food at the heart of Labuan Bajo town. Price is a bit steep, but you get what you pay for.

Dinner @ La Bajo Flores

Rating: 5 out of 5.

We went here twice during our trip at Labuan Bajo, which shows how we love this place.

We walked through a boardwalk extended into the ocean to reach the restaurant, and the view was great. You could book a table if you want a table with a sea view, but the restaurant was not full during both of our visits, so should be ok to just drop by the restaurant.

The food were great. Tiramisu, white fish with rice, spaghetti, mocktails, we loved it all.

Coffee Time @ Taka Bajo

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Our taxi passed by this cute little cafe a few time returning from city center to our hotel. Chocolate cake is rich and dense. Coffee was simply good, though the espresso was a bit bitter for my taste.

Dinner @ Fish Market

Rating: 4 out of 5.

To tried local fresh seafood, we went to the fish market. There were some fish that was hard to find at our hometown, so it was a good opportunity to try it out. It was simple and delicious, furthermore you could browse through the numerous fish stalls on the street.
